WindowStill Spotlight: Logan Astrup
This week under the WindowStill Spotlight, we have Logan Astrup!
Logan is one of our real estate photographers, taking photos in the Ann Arbor area. Here’s what he had to say…
What is your role at WindowStill? What does a typical day of work look like for you?
I’m a real estate photographer at WindowStill. A typical workday for me starts with making sure all my equipment is charged and ready to use. When I’m done taking photos for the day, I come home and upload them all to be edited.
How did you find WindowStill?
I have a friend who’s also a real estate photographer, so when I talked to him about getting into the field, he recommended that I reach out to Brad.
What do you like to do when you’re not working?
When I’m not working, I really enjoy reading, going for long walks, listening to music, or hanging out with friends.
What advice would you give to an aspiring photographer?
I would say try to find your own style and figure out what makes your work unique. Whether it’s film vs digital, shooting in black and white vs color, or a specific way to light or edit, you’ll want to stand out and avoid copying other photographers.
What do you feel is the most important quality in a photographer?
I would say being open-minded is the most important quality. Photography is about capturing moments in time and seeing the world from a different point of view, so it’s important to be open to different ideas to get the best shot.
