Here’s what you missed from Dylan Tent…

The conversation starts with Dylan discussing the extreme sports he grew up doing, such as riding dirtbikes, playing hockey, flying helicopters, and more. Dylan explained that he was homeschooled until the eighth grade and that these activities were his reward for finishing his schoolwork. He also believed that these extracurricular activities gave him an advantage over his competitors today.

Next, Dylan shared how the real estate industry has evolved since he began in 2014. He serves the Southeast Michigan market and noted how marketing a home has evolved since he used to produce his listing video, which put him ahead of the competition even when people didn’t understand it. He also mentioned how, prior to the lockdown, he used to wear suits every day. As a realtor, he still believes that the business hasn’t changed much and that it’s still a people’s business based on relationships.

Kevin then asked Dylan how he had improved his time management since he mentioned it in an interview. He explained how hiring a transaction helped him a lot, not just with balancing time but also with money. He does not have to pay her full-time because it is transactional.

“The faster you’re willing to fail, the faster you’ll earn,” Dylan once said. When Kevin asked him to elaborate, he explained that success comes from being uncomfortable. Kevin then asks him whether he believes there is a distinction between failing and losing. He responded, “When you’re playing hockey and you have a layup for a goal but miss it, you can still win the game. Losing is when the clock runs out.”

Next, Dylan shared the valuable lessons he’s learned as an advocate for many authors, including Dale Carnegie, and if he had to summarize his advocacy in one sentence, it would be to be genuinely interested in people when talking to them. He also emphasized the importance of making people feel you have time for them, as well as being compassionate and understanding.

Kevin concludes the conversation by asking Dylan what he thinks about the quote “Formal education gets you a portion. Self-education gets you a fortune.” Dylan agreed wholeheartedly because he grew up seeing everything that made his father successful being learned off campus. He saw him become a lifelong student, and it inspired him to do the same.
