In the meantime, here’s a summary of the conversation…

The conversation starts off with Brad asking Kelli if she’s always wanted to be a real estate agent. Kelli admits that she didn’t even know what a real estate agent was as a kid, however, she was interested in interior design.

Putting this dream on hold, she ended up going to school for nursing before getting married and becoming a stay-at-home mom for a while.

She explains that she started working in sales as she wanted to start her own career. Loving the freedom it provided, she ended up pursuing real estate.

Next, Brad asks about advice that helped Kelli on her journey. She says she was told to be honest and to be herself. She says this helped her build client relationships and grow her knowledge of the industry, as she wasn’t pretending to know everything and was honest if she didn’t have the answer to a question.

Kelli begins talking about her first transaction, describing it as “smooth.” She says she was working for both the buyer and seller and this transaction happened about 2 months after getting her license.

Taylor asks if Kelli has any new marketing strategies that she’s adopted since her start in real estate. Kelli talks about networking in the area and getting to know the residents of her town. She says she’d go to events and highly populated areas to let the residents know of her services.

Next, Taylor asks if Kelli has any advice for new agents. Kelli says that she’d tell them to try not to take things too personally. Also, be as kind and helpful as possible with each client.

Brad asks if there have been any big changes in Kelli’s business since COVID hit. Kelli says that her business actually grew as many people want to buy a second home to get away since it’s not safe to stay in hotels right now. Also, she mentions that with the low-interest rates, it’s cheaper to own than rent right now.

Brad and Taylor ask about Kelli’s future goals. Kelli mentions that she just wants to keep growing, helping people, and enjoying what she does. She also talks a little bit about her love for interior design and how it plays out in the real estate world.

Lastly, Taylor asks the signature question: Is a hot dog a sandwich?

Kelli replies that yes, it is! Since there’s meat and a bun, she doesn’t see why not!
