In the meantime, here’s a summary of the conversation…
The conversation starts off with Brad asking if Paul has always wanted to be a real estate agent. Paul explains that he actually comes from a family of realtors, so yes, he has always been interested in real estate!
He describes his first real estate transaction, saying he actually accompanied his mom to it when he was around 7 years old. He jokes that he was confused by the way payment works in real estate, AKA, commission.
He also notes that although he comes from a family of realtors, ironically, his dad wanted him to avoid getting into the real estate business. Paul talks about the secure job he had before taking the leap to start selling real estate part-time.
He decided to start working for himself when changes to commission happened at his former workplace. He says he worked non-stop to build his real estate career up enough to leave his other job.
Brad, Taylor, and Paul talk about Paul’s YouTube channel next. Paul explains that he has had the channel for a while, however, he has recently learned more about the algorithm which has allowed him to grow his following and increase the views on his videos.
Taylor asks what’s different between Paul’s marketing strategy when he first started versus what it is now. He explains that he found work on Craigslist for a while but these days he’s leaning more on social media marketing, specifically Facebook marketing.
Brad asks if Paul has received any advice that has stuck with him, to which Paul talks about the importance of being nice to other agents. He explains that he was under the impression that he needed to get a deal through by any means necessary, even if that meant getting hostile with other agents.

After a really bad experience with another agent, he said the importance of being nice to other agents finally clicked with him.
Taylor asks if Paul has any advice for new agents. Paul says he would tell a new agent to choose their lane and use the marketing methods that work with their interests the best rather than following a one-size-fits-all model.
Paul spends some time talking about a memorable transaction he’s had, as well as his goals for the future and how he balances work and life.
Lastly, Taylor asks the signature question: Is a hotdog a sandwich?
Paul confidently answers that yes, a hotdog is a sandwich since a hotdog bun is essentially a miniature sub bun and the hotdog is a slice of meat.
