EPISODE 36: JAIMIE SCHMIDT

The conversation starts off with Jaimie giving a little bit of background on what she does… restoring and selling old homes!

 

She talks a little bit about loving archaeology and history as a child. Starting off, she restored old homes for family and clients and talks about her love of learning the history behind each time period through the houses.

 

Brad and Taylor ask about how Jaimie restores the homes and she explains that she always waits a year before making renovations. She says we often don’t have a full understanding of how we’ll use the house so it’s best to live in it for a while before making any renovations.

 

Jaimie shares the worst advice she’s ever received, saying she was told to gut the old houses she works with while renovating. Rather than get rid of older components she likes to work with what she has as there’s so much history within the home.

 

Brad, Taylor, and Jaimie talk about her favorite home that she’s sold, her Tik Tok content, and how she got started with this platform.

 

Lastly, Brad and Taylor ask Jaimie what she’d spend $1,000 on if she had to start all over with her business. She mentions the importance of starting a good website.
