Real Estate Photographer Spotlight: Andrew Baron-Groomes
This week under the WindowStill Spotlight, we have Andrew Baron-Groomes!
Andrew is one of our awesome real estate photographers in the Manhattan, NY area. We chatted with him about his personal interests, his advice, and his opinions on his craft. Check out what this Manhattan photographer had to say…
What is your role at WindowStill and what does a day of work typically look like for you?
I’m a real estate photographer with WindowStill. On a typical day, I check my bag twice for the necessary equipment before leaving. I’ll travel by car or train my listings before taking photos of the property. While at the shoot, I spend some time chatting with real estate agents if they’re on site.
What do you like to do in your free time when you’re not working?
When I’m not working, I still love to explore the streets of New York and take pictures. If I’m not photographing the city, you can find me DJing!
What advice would you give to someone that’s new to your field and why?
Always go through your checklists before and after shoots!
Making sure you have the equipment before leaving guarantees that you’ll be prepared. In addition to remembering equipment, the checklist serves as a guide for preparing the house for photos.
What do you feel is the most important quality for someone in your field and why?
Attention to detail is crucial. Little things like making sure your tripod is level, height is consistent, and camera settings are correct can save you from having to reshoot a property. It also reflects not only your work but the entire company.
