The conversation starts with Matt giving a little bit of background on Rosemary Davis and Real Estate One. He shares what it was like being the son of a real estate broker.
Initially, he did not expect that he would end up working in real estate. He shared that when he started, the fear of transitioning from having a stable income to an unstable one was intense. At that time, his mother needed more help, which pushed him to jump into the business.
Brad and Taylor ask Matt if there’s any advice he’d give to someone starting out in real estate. He answered, “All buyers and sellers are liars,” and, “The first one who speaks loses.” He explains how important these are when it comes to negotiations and that responding with silence is okay.
Next, he talked about some of the worst property showings he encountered and what the details of the various experiences entailed.
The conversation wraps up with Matt sharing his goals for the future, what he’d do with $1,000 if he had to start all over again, and his insights on different skills demanded to thrive in the industry.
