Badger Beall is a family man, devoted husband, and father of two. Beyond his role in real estate, he is an avid cyclist with a passion for wine and a love for travel. Recently transitioning into the empty nest phase, he embraces new experiences and opportunities.

Initially working in investment advising, Badger found the profession unsatisfying, prompting a shift to property management. In 1987, he became a licensed real estate agent, driven by financial necessity. Despite initial reluctance, he achieved success in the field, experiencing significant growth after coaching with Dr. Frederick Gross starting in 1998.

In 2001, Badger became a partner in a Midland, Michigan-based real estate firm with around 40 agents. In 2011, he and his wife opened a business in Bay City, Michigan, where they are partners. While still engaged in real estate sales, his involvement reduced significantly after 2016.

Badger underscores the significance of a supportive network in real estate. He emphasizes the potential isolation and mental toll of the profession, highlighting the need for a strong support system for both personal and professional well-being. Surviving the nonlinear nature of real estate and maintaining motivation through ups and downs is the biggest challenge, according to Badger. He discusses the mental aspects of the profession and the importance of a resilient mindset.

Badger’s primary office in Midland holds around 35% of the market in Midland County. The Bay City office, a younger company, has 10-12% market share but leads in average sale price and per-agent productivity. Transitioning from production to leadership, Badger now mentors newer agents, sharing experiences and insights. He underlines the value of supporting and guiding colleagues in the real estate business.

Diagnosed with ADHD at a young age, Badger’s personal and professional life underwent a significant transformation after seeking a diagnosis. Embracing ADHD as a unique ability, he focuses on its positive attributes while minimizing negative effects. He then highlights the prevalence of ADHD among real estate agents and advocates for awareness and support in the industry. He discusses the challenges of over-scheduling and the impact of social media on individuals, especially those with ADHD. Encouraging individuals not to be ashamed of ADHD, Badger shares personal experiences of seeking support. He emphasizes the importance of having the courage to face oneself, make necessary changes, and address challenges through self-reflection.

Following that, Badger discusses the advantage of genuine human interaction in the real estate industry, emphasizing the need for cultivating connections with clients and other agents for success. Acknowledging the advantages of ADHD, particularly in creativity and problem-solving, Badger Beall shares a personal example of how ADHD has influenced creative thinking and problem-solving in real estate transactions.

Reflecting on negative external factors affecting agents, Badger encourages taking back power despite challenges. He emphasizes controlling mindset, actions, and surrounding oneself with positive influences, urging agents to focus on revenue-producing activities and take proactive steps. Acknowledging setbacks and failures as valuable learning experiences, Badger encourages authenticity over perfection. He stresses the importance of not taking oneself too seriously in the real estate business.

Badger then shares mentorship wisdom emphasizing the importance of people in the real estate business. He reflects on a mentor’s advice to “waste five minutes with your clients,” emphasizing the concept of impeccable self-care and the value of investing time in oneself for personal and professional growth.

Quoting “You can’t pour from an empty cup,” Badger stresses the importance of self-care to give to others. He encourages occasional selfishness, pursuing things that bring happiness and fulfillment, and emphasizes the concept of sacred selfishness, finding ways to deal with it with support from different people and professionals. Badger also nderscores the importance of a support system, starting with finding support for oneself. He emphasizes the role of supportive people and professionals in the process.
