Real Estate Photographer Spotlight: Pati Barreto
This week under the WindowStill Spotlight, we have Pati Barreto!
Pati is one of our awesome real estate photographers, serving South Florida (Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Miramar, West Palm Beach). She told us about her hobbies and her tips for new photographers.
Here’s what this South Florida photographer had to say…
What is your role at WindowStill and what does a day of work typically look like for you?
I work for WindowStill as a real estate photographer. On the side, I work as a food photographer!
A large part of my work is done on my computer, I’d say about 80%. I spend quite a bit of time reaching out to clients and getting estimates. When I’m done shooting, I spend a lot of time on the computer post-production.
The other 20% is my favorite part, where I get to go out and take the photographs!
What do you like to do in your free time when you’re not working?
Besides going out and taking photos, I spend a lot of time training.
Also, I love taking walks and spending time with my family and friends. Seeing people had been a struggle during the pandemic, however, now that we’re getting back to normal a bit I’ve been able to really focus on seeing friends and family. I feel it’s crucial to see people and be surrounded by those that we love!
What advice would you give to someone that’s new to your field and why?
Starting is always really difficult. It can be super frustrating because of that!
I’ve found that it’s important to have a clear and realistic objective in your mind of what you want to achieve. Sometimes, we get a little too ambitious and think we’re going to dominate the world in one day then give up if it doesn’t happen.
Stay consistent, dedicated, and motivated to do just a little bit every day. In the end, you’ll find that it pays off when you see results!
What do you feel is the most important quality for someone in your field and why?
I believe that creativity and motivation are the two most important qualities for someone in my field. It takes time to find your area of expertise. Once you’ve found that, you have to figure out the guidelines for your work.
From there, you’re working on achieving your goals and gaining clients. Every day I learn how to do my job better and extend my reach. I’m constantly learning how to follow up better and approach future clients better in addition to delivering higher-quality work.
All of these steps lead to a more complete professional, no matter what field you’re working in!
