Syed, a seasoned real estate coach, shared his insights on the importance of agents developing independent systems that free them from the reliance on brokers or paid lead platforms. Early in his career, he had relied heavily on paid advertising, which resulted in burnout and high marketing costs, consuming a significant portion of his commissions. Over time, Syed shifted his focus to building a system that ensured consistent, predictable business. His main takeaway: instead of purchasing leads, agents should prioritize nurturing relationships and building a personal brand.
One of the key lessons Syed emphasized was the value of coaching. Reflecting on his own experiences, he advised agents to hire coaches that address their weaknesses rather than just reinforcing their strengths. He warned against free coaching programs, noting that they often lack structure and direction. Drawing parallels to professional athletes who constantly rely on specialized coaches, Syed highlighted how having multiple mentors for different skill sets can greatly enhance an agent’s performance.
In discussing the current real estate landscape, Syed identified two types of agents: those oblivious to the shifting industry and those paralyzed by fear of change. For Syed, the solution lies in building robust systems—attraction, conversion, and retention—that can insulate an agent’s business from external market fluctuations. He stressed that agents who implement these systems are better positioned to thrive, regardless of the challenges that arise.
Syed’s ultimate goal is to help 1,000 real estate agents by 2030 through his Boss Agents Academy. With around 120-125 active members and a more extensive year-long program now in place, Syed is steadily working towards this target.
His commitment to equipping agents with the tools and systems they need to succeed is reflected in his comprehensive approach to coaching and his collaborative mindset, bringing in other experts to complement his training.
