On this episode of The Closing Table, we sat down with Renee Mangum!

Here’s what you missed from Renee Mangum…

The conversation starts with Renee giving a little bit of background about her brokerage, Dash North Carolina and what sets them apart. They take pride in serving their clients as the largest independent brokerage in North Carolina. Instead of showcasing the potential of the homes, they talk people out of purchasing them. They look for features that may require clients to repair in the long run and show them the home’s potential value.

Next, Renee discussed her thoughts on the current market and some preparation tips for buyers and sellers. Buyers should prepare what they actually have, have a pre-approval letter, and be aware of the fees associated with the process. Sellers, on the other hand, must prepare primarily themselves, understand that it will no longer be their home, and it is important to depersonalize as well as keep up with their maintenance.

When asked about the market correction, Renee explained that, while the price increase in 2022 is slowing, there is still insufficient inventory. She also explained what she meant when she described real estate as a perfect blend of people and craftsmanship. With her outgoing personality and love of meeting new people, she admits that interiors excite her just as much.

Next, Renee shared her experience working on historical homes and even moving one through downtown Raleigh. She then discussed the video of herself in a crawl space, which she considers to be one of the most interesting places on a property, followed by land. She expressed her love for soil and land, believing that it holds so much history because so many people have walked on it.

The conversation wraps up with Kevin asking Renee what cocktail drink would she compare her style as a realtor to. Her answer? Spicy margarita! She also talked about her experience being featured on HGTV’s House Hunters, which will air on Thursday, February 23rd!
