In the meantime, here’s a summary of the conversation…

The conversation starts with Brad asking Troy if he’s always wanted to be a real estate agent. Troy says he didn’t want to be a real estate agent as a kid but wanted to be a musician instead. He explains that he competed in a few singing competitions but chose not to pursue this path.

He goes on to mention that he earned his degree in youth ministries and worked in that field for a while before selling insurance. Since he liked working with people and sales, he decided to give real estate a try.

Brad asks about Troy’s first transaction as a real estate agent, and Troy explains that it involved similar systems as insurance did. He goes on to explain that he caught on quickly and that his first clients were very impressed with it being his first transaction.

Next, Brad asks about a piece of advice that stuck with Troy. Troy mentions that he was told to be quick to the chase and to be aggressive with leads, which has helped him grow his business. He talks about the support from his family when he had to work nights and weekends in order to get his career off the ground.

Brad asks if Troy still practices the same marketing habits as he started with. Troy mentions that he uses some, however, he’s gotten a lot more involved with digital marketing, especially when COVID emerged. He goes on to explain that he’s part of Dave Ramsey’s endorsement program and explains that that program is.

Taylor asks if Troy has any advice for new agents and he mentions that new agents have to be willing to invest money into their business. Also, they must be driven and dedicated when it comes to pursuing leads.

He also mentions that if any homeowners are interested in selling their homes, now is a great time to do it as fewer houses are on the market than there usually are at this time of year.

Lastly, Taylor asks the signature question: Is a hotdog a sandwich?

Troy laughs and mentions that yes, he thinks so since there’s meat and bread in a hotdog!
