What you missed from Mikaelah Gaston…
The conversation starts off with Mikaelah giving a little bit of background on what she does as an agent. She tells Brad and Taylor that she was uncertain about what she wanted to do as a high-schooler and could feel the pressure to choose a profession as graduation neared.
Finally, for one of her classes, her teacher required her to pick a place to job shadow. Since Mikaelah’s family already knew the owner of Sproat, she decided to perform her job shadow there.
Loving what she saw, Mikaelah decided to stick around and help with admin work until she could work as an agent herself. When she turned 18, she earned her own real estate license and the rest is history!
She describes her first transaction, mentioning that she’s still friends with the client. Brad and Taylor ask if Mikaelah has any advice for newbies and she mentions the importance of being genuine with clients.
She tells a story about the worst property that she’s been to before reflecting on how she’d spend $1,000 to start over (spoiler alert, she says she’d invest in better marketing tools!). The conversation ends with Mikaelah talking about her growth, how she tackled the pandemic, and her favorite business book: The Defining Decade.
