The conversation starts with Heather talking about how she got into real estate. Initially, she worked in social media marketing as a side job.
Next, she talks about an appalling comment she received from one of her teachers in high school and how it motivated her to do better in life.
She then started working at a bank where she met a bank manager who saw her potential and guided her to go to college. Being the first person in her family to attend college, she was overwhelmed by the idea of taking out student loans.
After getting married, she ended up moving and started working in car sales. After working in the business for 20 years, she was let go. She explains the struggle she went through as she was also going through a divorce at that time.
Heather then talked about her friend who influenced her to get into real estate. Having a background in sales, she decided to get her real estate license.
At one of her open houses, she met an older man who invited her to his office and gave her a book. Unaware that he wanted to recruit her, she was impressed with all the knowledge and wisdom she acquired.
She decided to join Keller Williams Realty as she knew she needed mentorship and training in order to grow in her career. She received all the tools and resources she needed, which allowed her to work on her own.
Next, Heather talked about a career coach who helped her develop herself as an entrepreneur. She also shared the valuable lessons she learned when she started, mentioning the value of keeping emotions between the lines.
The conversation ends with Heather sharing her worst property showing experience, her goals, and a business book recommendation: The One Thing.
