HERE’S WHAT YOU MISSED FROM TOM RAFFERTY…
The conversation starts with Tom sharing what he does and how he got into real estate. When he was younger, being a real estate agent was not what he had planned. Having to choose between getting a job or entering the military, he decided to work in real estate and got his license at the age of 19.
He then spends some time talking about his team and what it’s like being part of the management side of operations. While it is fulfilling to manage agents, Tom admits that he still prefers being in sales.
Next, Tom shared the story of his first transaction and the other ones that followed, mentioning the importance of connections and relationships. Catering to his hometown where his mother is also a teacher, he was able to reach out to more people in the neighborhood.
Brad and Taylor ask Tom if there’s a piece of advice that stuck with him throughout the years. He answered that the lessons he learned mostly came from observing and engaging with his peers. Watching how they deal with various situations set an example for him to improve.
Tom also talked about the company he recently started in Florida. One of his goals for the year is to focus on the growth of the company as most of his clients also come from his connections in Michigan.
The conversation wraps up with Tom sharing his worst property experiences and what he’d do differently if he had to start all over again. He also shared the radio show he’s in, Realty Rap on WHMI 93.5 every Sunday at 7:30!
