Here’s a summary of the conversation…
The conversation starts off with Taylor asking Chelsie about how she got started in real estate.
Chelsie begins by explaining that she took a career quiz in school and it told her that real estate would be a great path for her since she cares for people so much. Not thinking much about this match, Chelsie went to school and ended up getting a degree related to insurance.
After working at a corporation, she decided it wasn’t the job for her and wanted to pursue real estate instead.
Taylor asks about Chelsie’s first sale and Chelsie says that she was excited and not really nervous about it, as she’s the type of person who learns as she goes. She begins talking about a memorable sale in which the buyer had a tricky situation and ended up moving into the garage until the transaction went through.
Unfortunately, the transaction wasn’t able to go through, so the potential buyer had to move all their stuff out of the garage before another buyer bought the property.
Chelsie then begins talking about her history with flipping homes. She says she’s in her sixth house in five years, as she and her husband like to flip houses. She says that she wants to continue to flip houses in the future, however, she doesn’t want to live in them while flipping.

Still from The Brad and Taylor Show Episode 6
Brad asks Chelsie about one lesson she’s learned from flipping houses, and she jokes that you should buy on a beer budget rather than a champagne budget. She explains that since she was living in the houses that she wanted all the nicest features, however, this has made her lose money on the return.
Next, Chelsie talks about selling real estate while having a young child and explains that it helps that she and her husband work together and have flexible schedules. She talks about their work-life balance and how it’s easy to get stressed but she manages to breathe through it.
Taylor asks Chelsie about advice for new agents and Chelsie says she would tell them to just take the leap and not wait for the perfect moment. She says that if you have the passion and drive for real estate, you’ll figure it out along the way.
She also talks about how the most difficult part of real estate for her has been learning how to read people. She explains that everyone communicates differently so it’s easy to have your feelings hurt if you don’t understand a client’s perspective.
Brad asks Chelsie about her goals for the next 5 years, and she says she wants to continue flipping houses and one day be debt-free.
Lastly, Taylor asks the signature question: Is a hotdog a sandwich?
Chelsie laughs and says no, however, she may feel differently had she been raised to see it that way.
