Here’s what you missed from Shawn McNeil…
The conversation starts with Shawn recounting his time in the United States Marine Corps and the lessons he learned that helped him as a realtor. He described how he applied skills such as work ethic and leadership to give him an advantage.
Being based in Bay City, Shawn also talks about how the market differs from any other comparable or nearby market. He described the differences between the city’s eastern and western sides, as well as how location, even just a block away, can significantly affect home prices.
Next, Shawn discussed his marketing strategies as well as how he uses technology to help him with his work. He explained how their use of social media sets them apart by showing more of themselves and their lives rather than merely real estate entries. He also expresses his enthusiasm for technology. Especially with the rise of artificial intelligence and how he incorporates it into his business. He emphasizes the importance of balance and not doing what everyone else is doing in order to stand out.
Kevin then asked as to how much time he devotes to his profession each week, to which he replied that it ranges between 80 and 100 hours. He also mentioned that he spends the majority of his time on the phone due to meetings, transactions, and so on.
Shawn then talked about how he keeps up with changes in the real estate market. He mentioned how he spends a significant amount of time researching market conditions across the country, not just in Michigan. He also gains knowledge of other industries. Shawn would then share what he had learned with his team, as well as possible predictions based on market conditions. They’ve sold about 150 homes in the last year, and that number is expected to rise this year.
The two conclude their conversation by discussing Shawn’s achievement as the Best Zillow – Premier Agent (an achievement only the top 10% of all agents on Zillow receive, hand-picked by all of the clients that we as agents serve). In addition, he is one of the youngest real estate brokers in Michigan.
