Here’s what you missed from Carin Whybrew…

The conversation began with Carin giving a little bit of background on how she was raised, as her parents bought, built, and sold thirteen homes in the same neighborhood where she grew up. While she had no idea she’d become an agent, she believes it has shaped her mentality in real estate. In fact, one of her company’s mottos is “because everyone deserves a loving home.”

Carin then talked about her degree in social service and how it is structured to help people in various ways. It enabled her to provide genuine professional assistance to others. One of the best compliments she’s received is that when a client is talking to her, they feel like they are her only client.

Being in the business for over 30 years, Carin has seen inflation, recession, and market correction. However, she believes that COVID was the most significant event that influenced real estate. In retrospect, her team really sat down during the lockdown and talked about how they’ll sell homes from then on. Even in the construction industry, they needed to be more innovative, so they created a framework called value propositions. It definitely strengthened them and significantly altered how they conduct business. Carin also mentioned that the lockdown is still affecting us today.

Next, Carin shared how getting her associate broker license in 2008, 15 years after obtaining her license, elevate her career. She desired to further her education at the time and believes that any education will be beneficial. She is also a member of the National Association of Realtors Real Estate Buyers Agent Council. She discussed how she learned to work as a buyer’s agent and how it has helped her become a better agent.

Kevin then inquired about Carin’s team’s contributions to ten different non-profit organizations and causes in the previous year. She stated that some organizations approached them, while others, they chose based on what they care about and believe in. She also discussed how giving back to the community can be viewed as an investment in the community. Carin believes it is important, especially when people come to town because it is something the city can offer. With that, they provide not only the major landmarks and highlights of town but also the little things that matter.

The conversation wraps up with Carin sharing her goals and strategies for the year. She wants to concentrate on their volunteer projects, where they will educate people about the home-buying process. She also wants to focus more on refining her team’s video presence and how they do real estate.
