What is your role at WindowStill and what does a day of work typically look like for you?
As a WindowStill photographer and videographer, I handle a range of services, including photos, drone photos, walk-through videos, drone videos, 3D tours, floor plans, and room measurements.
In this dynamic industry, no day is typical, and my experiences over the past 4+ years have been quite interesting. Just when you think you’ve seen it all, unexpected events like someone shooting a shotgun at your drone can happen, making each day unique and sometimes even humorous!
Before bedtime, I review my daily schedule, confirming the upcoming shoots, their locations, and the services required. I ensure all my gear is charged, insert memory cards into all devices, and pack cameras, drones, gimbals, and other essentials.
The next morning, I hit the road for my first shoot. Upon arrival, I meticulously walk through the entire house, ensuring it’s ready for photography. If something is amiss, I make adjustments whenever possible.
After completing all the shoots, I return to my computer and submit all files to our exceptional editing team. This meticulous process ensures that the final products meet the high standards set by WindowStill.
What do you like to do in your free time when you’re not working?
In my free time, when I’m not working, I love indulging in my passion for photography. It has been my passion since I was 14, and I genuinely love it. I actively engage in art festivals, submitting my creative work to various competitions. Flying the drone and capturing expansive photos are particular highlights of my photography journey.
What advice would you give to someone that’s new to your field and why?
For newcomers in my field, I’d say: shoot as many photos as you can, keep practicing, and get to know your equipment inside out. Familiarity with your gear is key to handling today’s sophisticated cameras. Don’t be afraid to get creative and try new things. If you fail, who cares!
What do you feel is the most important quality for someone in your field and why?
In my field, it’s tough to pick just one quality because success requires a mix of skills, hospitality, and emotional intelligence. If you balance these three, you’ve got the most important quality right there!
