Real Estate Photographer Spotlight: Fenthon Aristhomene
This week under the WindowStill Spotlight, we have Fenthon Aristhomene!
Fenthon is one of our awesome photographers from Boward County, South Florida (ranging from Palm Beach County to Miami Dade County). He told us about his daily routine and his advice for newer photographers.
Here’s what he had to say…
What is your role at WindowStill and what does a day of work typically look like for you?
I am one of their real estate photographers currently based in the very beautiful and very hot state of Florida.
A typical day for me starts at 7:30-8:30 a.m., and as soon as I’m up, I turn over and grab my phone. I start by scrolling through social media to grab some laughs and relax a little. Once I’m settled, I start messaging realtors on Instagram, then go on to Facebook.
Once I’ve met my mark, I go about my day, regularly checking social media. Later in the day, I try to get my emails rolling, whether it’s texting more realtors or setting up lunch and learns.
What do you like to do in your free time when you’re not working?
When I have free time, I try to book other personal shoots to keep myself occupied and broaden my skills in photography. I genuinely enjoy photography and videography, so taking and editing photographs and videos is a lot of fun for me.
What advice would you give to someone that’s new to your field and why?
A piece of advice that I would give to someone that’s new to my field is to never get too high or get too low, good and bad things are bound to happen you will have big wins.
However, you will definitely be taking losses while learning. Adding to that, I would advise having a short memory, meaning not dwelling on the negative for too long. People may reject you fairly quickly, or you may have little success talking to or finding clients, so don’t overthink it and focus on your wins!
I personally struggle with this, and I’m still trying to stay positive even when things don’t go as planned, but definitely stack the wins!
What do you feel is the most important quality for someone in your field and why?
The most important quality for someone in my field is of course being a solid photographer and the ability to communicate with others and convey emotion through text messages. I mention this because you don’t want to come across as rude or monotone, which can be difficult to avoid when communicating via text. I often use emojis as they lighten my mood.
