What is your role at WindowStill and what does a day of work typically look like for you?
I am an associate real estate photographer with Windowstill.
I believe that a picture is worth a thousand words, and this is especially true in real estate photography. That is my mindset every day! In today’s real estate market, photos are key to making an initial impression on potential buyers.
When I enter a home, the first thing I do is conduct a walkthrough and look around as if I were a potential buyer. I try to take note of the home’s notable characteristics as well as the overall flow of the room. I try to translate this into my photos by capturing those features and ensuring that the flow of the home is shown through my shots.
Every day, my goal is to leave a lasting impact on every client that uses my services.
What do you like to do in your free time when you’re not working?
In my spare time, my three favorite things to do are working in the garden, going on hikes, and preparing delicious meals.
What advice would you give to someone that’s new to your field and why?
I would advise someone new to my field to approach each project/client with the utmost integrity. Taking pride in your job will help you stand out from the crowd. Potential buyers often look at images first, and if you do not pique their interest right away, they will go on. Thus, it is important to approach each client/project with professionalism and courtesy.
What do you feel is the most important quality for someone in your field and why?
In my line of work, the ability to connect with others, to think outside the box, and to pay close attention to detail are key.
