What is your role at WindowStill and what does a day of work typically look like for you?

I am a real estate photographer for WindowStill, and my typical workday is quite structured. It starts with ensuring all my equipment is charged and ready to go. I prefer to arrive 15-20 minutes early at photoshoot locations to guarantee punctuality (being at least 10 minutes early), where I promptly notify the real estate agent of my arrival and await permission to begin working. I prioritize organization, starting five minutes ahead to ensure the house is well-lit, clean, and prepared for the shoot.

After completing the shoot, I make sure to leave the property as I found it, maintaining its original condition before departure. I then proceed to upload the pictures, readying them for the editing process.

What do you like to do in your free time when you’re not working?

In my free time, I like to stay active by either working out or heading to the golf course/range. Balancing two jobs can be stressful, so I make it a point to go out with friends at least once a week. This not only gives me something to look forward to but also helps me relax and unwind.

What advice would you give to someone that’s new to your field and why?

My advice to someone new in any field, whether work-related or in life in general, is to always strive for improvement. Continuously practice your craft and maintain a strong desire to learn. Setting high standards for yourself ensures that you’re prepared for upcoming challenges and can give your best effort, which is crucial for growth.

Without this drive and willingness to improve, you may find yourself stagnating and achieving the same results repeatedly. Remember, pursuing your dreams or goals requires consistent effort and dedication; don’t let the fear of challenges hold you back, or you may regret it in the future.

What do you feel is the most important quality for someone in your field and why?

In my field, the most important quality is clear communication skills. Remember, the people you work with won’t know what is happening unless you tell them! This applies to any job or social situation; clear communication ensures a shared understanding of tasks and goals.

Empathy is another major factor in this job as well. It is important to be understanding and always ask questions before doing anything. At the end of the day, it’s the seller and agent who have the final say, and rightfully so! Accommodating their needs should be a top priority to ensure everyone is happy with the outcomes.
