Here’s what you missed from Logan Everett & Brett Miles…
The conversation starts with Kevin asking about Logan’s education and why he did not pursue a college education. Logan graduated from Northwestern High School in 2016 and then pursued a career in real estate. When asked why he decided not to pursue a college education and go into real estate, he explained that he initially went to college for a year because his teachers had advised him to do so, but he soon realized that it wasn’t for him. He transitioned to bodybuilding and then found his way into a sales career, which eventually led him to real estate.
They then talked about Brett’s education in Cardiac Rehabilitation at Central Michigan University but ultimately decided to pursue a career in real estate. Brett talks about his transition and shared that he obtained his real estate license while he was still in college, partly because his mother had been an agent for 30 years. After graduation, he worked in various hospitals across the country but eventually returned to Michigan and decided to pursue real estate to have more time with his family.
Next, they talked about how real estate teams require certain elements to ensure success. When asked about this, Logan emphasized the importance of communication in ensuring that team members can work well together. Brett added that having a like-minded team with shared goals is crucial and that doing everything alone can be challenging without others to share ideas with. They both agreed that a good relationship among team members is essential for success. There are times when agents have to let go of difficult clients to which Logan and Brett shared a time when they had to fire a client who was proving challenging to work with.
Kevin then brought up a term called “housing market hangover.” When asked to describe what this means, Brett believes it refers to the comparison between the great market of the past and the current market, which is still good but not as exceptional as before. Logan, on the other hand, thinks that the market in their area of Jackson is doing relatively well, with a normal slowdown during the winter months.
When it comes to organization, Brett shares that technology is the way to go. He prefers to type everything down instead of writing on scratch paper to avoid losing any notes or information. Logan also believes in maximizing technology to streamline their work.
The conversation concluded with the two talking about the times they have gone above and beyond for their clients. Logan shared how he fixed different parts of a property to ensure that the sale went through for his client. Brett also shared how he helped his last clients by painting their property to increase its appraisal value.
