Social Media Marketing for Realtors
In this day and age, you can’t afford to not be marketing yourself on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or LinkedIn. In fact, Facebook has about 1.4 billion active users each day!
With many realtors marketing their property or services online, it’s important to keep up with the competition by practicing social media marketing.
Not sure where to start? Here’s how to use social media marketing as a realtor!
Make Sure You’re Engaging With Your Audience
It’s not enough to just post photos of your listing and call it a day.
If you want users to be attracted to your social media page, you’ll want to take the time to get to know your audience. Post polls on Facebook that get users commenting. Even something as simple as “what’s your favorite flavor of ice cream?” is a great start.
Once users start commenting on your posts, make sure you’re responding and engaging with them. People are way more likely to work with companies that take the time to interact with their clients and customers, as it makes them feel like they’re actually working with a person rather than a computer.
Showcase Your Knowledge of Your Industry
When you’re paying a professional, you want to know they’re the best, right?
Social media is a great way to let potential clients know that you’re knowledgeable in your field. A great way to do this is by sharing helpful tips on your social media. You could start a series called, “Tuesday Tips,” where you share information about programs for homebuyers, getting ready to sell, or what to look for during an inspection.
If potential clients feel confident in your knowledge and abilities as a realtor, they’re much more likely to choose you. Also, showcasing your knowledge of the resources available (3D tours, property descriptions, and professional real estate photos) will help your clients see the ways working with you will boost their listing.
Think of social media as your resume for potential clients!
Vary Content From Platform to Platform
A common mistake realtors, or any business personality, makes is sharing the same content on each platform.
Think of it like this…
If somebody follows you on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn, and you share the exact same photos with the exact same caption on each platform, how is that going to look to your audience? It may look like you’re just copying and pasting content for the sake of posting something.
This may come off as lazy to potential clients, or as if you don’t have enough knowledge to cater your content for each platform. This doesn’t mean that you can’t share the same property on each platform but change the wording and method a little bit!
For example, share the link for the property on LinkedIn with a more formal description of the property. If you’re posting the same property on Instagram, post the pictures with a caption leading viewers to a link in the bio. On Facebook, think of a clever, silly description for the property while posting the link.
Not only are you catering your content to fit the atmosphere of each platform, but you’re showing your audience that you’re willing to take the time to vary your content so it’s not boring for them.
