Here’s what you missed from Rhianon Lash…

Rhianon’s journey from the restaurant industry to real estate is a testament to her adaptability and entrepreneurial spirit. Growing up in a family business rooted in the restaurant world, Rhianon was no stranger to hard work and customer service. However, after experiencing burnout in a corporate role, she sought a career change that would offer her more flexibility and fulfillment.

Initially hesitant to leave a salaried position for the uncertainties of a commission-based role, Rhianon took a leap of faith and obtained her real estate license at the onset of the pandemic. The skills she honed in the restaurant industry—such as adaptability, a strong work ethic, and a passion for building relationships—proved invaluable in her new career.

Real estate provided Rhianon with the perfect balance between structure and entrepreneurial freedom. She relished the opportunity to build her own business, improve her skills, and navigate the complexities of the real estate market. Her approach to client interactions emphasizes authenticity, genuine communication, and a deep commitment to her clients’ best interests. Rhianon prioritizes educating her clients throughout the transaction process, ensuring they feel informed and supported.

Despite the glamorous portrayal of real estate on TV shows like HGTV, Rhianon quickly learned that the reality of the job involves much more than simply showing homes. She navigated negotiations and inspections with a keen understanding of the structural and technical aspects of real estate, ensuring her clients were well-informed at every step.

As Rhianon delved deeper into her real estate career, she recognized the importance of proper guidance and communication in managing the complexities of transactions. She built strong relationships with listing agents and lenders, which helped her mitigate stress for her clients and creatively resolve any hurdles that arose.

Acknowledging the inherent stress in real estate, Rhianon made consistent communication a cornerstone of her practice, helping her clients feel informed and reducing their anxiety. She also learned valuable lessons about the dangers of comparing herself to others in the industry, choosing instead to focus on her personal goals for professional growth and well-being.

Time management became a crucial aspect of Rhianon’s strategy for maintaining mental stability. She prioritized spending time intentionally, cutting out wasteful activities from her schedule, and limiting social media exposure. Rhianon also adopted mindfulness techniques from her restaurant industry days, such as meditation and listening to her body and mind, to maintain her mental health.

As her real estate career progressed, Rhianon shifted her focus to repeat clients and personal referrals, allowing her to prioritize tasks more effectively and reduce time spent on non-priority activities. She emphasized the importance of respecting both her own and her clients’ time, only showing homes that matched their interests and needs.

Rhianon also addressed the challenges posed by fluctuating interest rates and their impact on the real estate market. She discussed the affordability challenges faced by homebuyers and explored new construction as an alternative, depending on individual circumstances.

Looking ahead, Rhianon is excited to embrace a more relaxed second half of the year. With plans to focus on her business and enjoy life, she is also preparing to make Chicago a second home due to her husband’s job there, eager to create new memories in the Windy City.
