WindowStill Real Estate Photographer Spotlight: Chris Wieber

This week under the WindowStill Spotlight, we have Chris Wieber!

Chris is one of our awesome photographers and drone operators in a variety of areas in Wisconsin, including Milwaukee and Madison. Keep reading to see what he had to say…

What is your role at WindowStill and what does a day of work typically look like for you?

I started out as a photographer and quickly picked up on drone work. Now, I’m starting to move into the video side of WindowStill!

A typical high-volume day for me actually starts the night before. The night before a shoot, I start by looking at my assignments and setting aside the equipment I’ll need for the day as I map out where I’ll be going. I also make sure that all my equipment is charged before I leave.

The morning of my shoots, I always start with coffee (this is tantamount). Next, I review my assignments to make sure there were no last-minute changes. After this, I load up my car and head to my shoots. After a day of shooting, I head back to my home office to start reviewing, culling, and uploading!

What do you like to do in your free time when you’re not working?

I like to play Irish Traditional Music. I’ve been playing the flute since I was a kid and I’ve recently picked up the pipes (though I’m not quite good at them yet).

What advice would you give to an aspiring photographer/videographer and why?

Practice, practice, practice!

Make plenty of mistakes early on and never be afraid to ask questions!

What do you feel is the most important quality for a photographer/ videographer and why?

I think passion is the most important. You have to love it enough to be constantly honing in and learning your craft.
