What is your role at WindowStill and what does a day of work typically look like for you?
I’m a quality control photo and video editor here at WindowStill.
A typical day will consist of me arriving at the office at around 6 AM to start preparing and delivering photos to clients. Next, I’ll go through and organize the photos to look for any inconstancies and fix anything that was missed by the first editing team.
Once the photos look ready, I will then upload and deliver them to the client. Once all the photos for the day have been delivered, I will usually work on any client-requested edits. Also, I will upload any new episodes of the Brad and Taylor show to YouTube.
What do you like to do in your free time when you’re not working?
I enjoy running and hiking a lot. Pretty much anything outdoors is right up my alley.
In addition to exercising, I like to cook and try new recipes. It’s super fun for me!
I’m currently working on getting my commercial pilot’s license which keeps me busy since I receive flight lessons at the Howell airport around twice a week.
What advice would you give to someone that’s new to your field and why?
This can apply to any field, but I really think it is important for a person to be open to learning more about their skill.
In order to grow, you need to be learning and practicing your preferred skill every day. Aside from practicing and learning, I would say that making mistakes and learning from them is a huge part of getting better.
What do you feel is the most important quality for someone in your field and why?
I think attention to detail is very important for anyone in the photography field. It’s the little details that make photos great and the best photographers/editors know what details to look out for.
Also, the ability to see a project through to the end is an important quality. If you easily give up, you’ll never make progress or grow as a photographer or editor. Lastly, a willingness to continually learn and evolve one’s skills is a great quality to have as an editor.
