WindowStill Spotlight: Karen LaCombe

This week under the WindowStill Spotlight, we have Karen LaCombe!

Karen is one of our real estate photographers, working near Fowlerville and Livingston County. Here’s what she had to say…

What is your role at WindowStill? What does a typical day of work look like for you?

I work with WindowStill as a part-time real estate photographer. I also work as a stager, so some days I stage a listing before shooting it. Other days, I begin shooting after I’ve taken my son to school.

Once I’ve finished taking photos for the day, I head home and upload them to the WindowStill portal to be edited.

How did you find WindowStill?

I already knew Brad, the owner of WindowStill because we used to work at ArtVan Furniture together. We stayed in touch for over 10 years before he introduced me to the manager of Eclectic Staging Company. So, now I work part-time as a stager and part-time as a real estate photographer.

I think this is the best decision I could have made for my family!

When you’re not working, what do you like to do in your free time?

There’s a ton that I like to do when I’m not working! I really enjoy baking, woodworking, running, reading, and playing sports. I also love spending time with my son. When I spend time with my son, we usually play sports, work on puzzles, and play games.

What advice would you give to an aspiring photographer?

I would tell any aspiring photographer that WindowStill is a great company to work for. WindowStill is a very supportive company that’s willing to help you grow as a photographer.

Also, they’re creative and always looking for the next best idea to help the company grow. I love working with a company that’s so flexible and committed to helping me be the best that I can be!

What do you feel is the most important quality of a photographer?

I feel that patience is the most important quality. No matter what’s thrown at you for a shoot, you need to be able to be patient and level-headed to get the job done.
